What’s Next for Albatross: Enterprise Features on the Horizon

Table of Contents

Since launching Albatross, we’ve been thrilled by the response from data teams looking for a self-hosted, cost-effective solution to move cloud-native data into modern data warehouses. Albatross is already helping teams eliminate orchestration overhead, reduce data movement costs, and maintain full control over their environments. But we’re just getting started.

Over the coming months, we’re focused on expanding Albatross to support more complex enterprise use cases—without sacrificing the simplicity and security that make it so appealing. Here’s a look at what’s coming next.

Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity Provider (IdP) Integration

Security is foundational to everything we do. Soon, Albatross will support enterprise authentication standards with SSO and IdP integration, including SAML and OIDC. This will allow teams to seamlessly integrate Albatross into their existing identity frameworks—improving access control, reducing administrative overhead, and meeting compliance requirements more easily.

Whether you’re managing internal users across multiple business units or enabling role-based access for contractors and vendors, SSO will make Albatross more secure and scalable for large teams.

We’re especially looking for partners who are interested in being early adopters of SSO and IdP features. If your team is exploring identity integration, we’d love to collaborate—your input will help us shape these features to meet real-world enterprise needs.

New Database Sources—Including Vector Databases

We’re expanding the range of supported source databases to meet the evolving needs of analytics and AI workflows. In addition to traditional RDBMS platforms, we’re adding support for next-generation vector databases that are becoming central to AI-driven analytics.

This means you’ll soon be able to move embeddings and high-dimensional data from vector-first systems into your data warehouse, making it easier to unify operational and AI datasets under one roof.

New Targets: Databricks and Beyond

Databricks has become a key platform for unified analytics, and we’re excited to announce upcoming support for it as a destination in Albatross. Whether you’re using Databricks for data science, AI training, or traditional BI workloads, Albatross will help you get the data there—reliably and efficiently.

Just like with Snowflake, our approach avoids direct production queries and relies on restored backups, ensuring safety and performance from end to end.

Multicloud Support: GCP and Azure

Albatross launched with full support for AWS, and now we’re taking it further. We're actively working on expanding compatibility to both Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. This will allow teams operating across cloud providers to use Albatross as a unified data movement layer—regardless of where their infrastructure lives.

Whether you’re cloud-native, hybrid, or in the midst of a migration, Albatross will meet you where you are.

Tell Us What You Need

These roadmap features are just the beginning. We’re building Albatross hand-in-hand with our users, and many of the features above were shaped directly by your feedback.

If there’s a specific database, destination, or enterprise feature you’d like to see added, we want to hear from you. In particular, if your organization is exploring identity management, we’d love to work together on implementing and validating SSO and IdP integration.

Your input helps us prioritize what matters most and ensures that Albatross continues to evolve with your needs.

Stay Tuned

We’re moving fast and are excited to start rolling out these capabilities soon. If you're already using Albatross, thank you—we’re thrilled to be part of your stack. If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s a great time to get started.

Albatross is free to try, includes implementation support, and takes just a few minutes to deploy. With multicloud support, more source and target integrations, and enterprise-grade access control on the way, there’s never been a better time to take control of your data movement.
